Delahaye Type 165. The Delahaye 165 was powered by a 4496cc V12 engine, a production version of the Type 145 V12 race car. The engine was detuned from that of the 145 race car. Just 5 of the Type 165 were built, 2 had this Figoni et Falaschi cabriolet coachwork. One of the cabriolets was sent by the French government to the 1939 New York Show.

These were stamped as build numbers 4071 (chassis 60741), 4072 (chassis 60742), 4073 (chassis 60743), and 4074 (chassis 60744).

Delahaye had planned a Type 165 featuring the 145's retooled V-12 racing engine in a shock of extravagant aerodynamic coachwork by Figoni & Falaschi. The bright red, streamlined cabriolet featured Figoni's characteristic voluptuous curves in what has come to be known as the teardrop style.
